And the winner for Best Picture 1980 is...

We deliberated the list.  ...and then some!  A few late entries poured in, including The Shining, and Herbie Goes Bananas.  But in the end, there could be only one winner.  And we'll find out right after the break.
Congratulations to:

Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back won Best Picture for its diverse, memorable story, engaging characters, and its culture-defining moments ("Luke, I am your father.").  Also, it was the unanimously best film in the TRILOGY.  (Episodes 1-3?  Never heard of them.)

The AoA was reluctant at first, because this film is near and dear to so many members' hearts, but upon review, the second installment in the Star Wars TRILOGY carried the weight of a force-grip on an unnamed imperial officer's neck, and that should be enough to convince anyone.
